Dissidia Final Fantasy US Dissidia Trailer Released

US trailer dissidia
The first English Dissidia: Final Fantasy trailer has been released to the public on the official website.

The trailer is chock full of hero and villain conflict, cheesy orchestral scores, and epic story telling. You can watch it under the Video section of the site, or here: Click Me

The site has also been fully made-over, boasting a whole new layout, three character profiles for each side - Cosmos and Chaos - and a PC and PSP wallpaper for each side as well.

Dissidia Final Fantasy Dissidia and 358/2 Days release date announced...and then denied

SO4 interview
A few of you may have heard a couple of days ago that both Dissidia: Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days would be available in North America on August 21st.

Unfortunately, this release date was proven false when a Square Enix representative stated,

"No, that is not correct, we don't have a launch date for Kingdom Hearts yet... hopefully that will come in the next couple of months,"

and then added,

"Dissidia was announced for mid-year 2009, and also doesn't have a release date."

And so, Dissidia: Final Fantasy is still set for its Mid-Year 2009 release. Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days is still on track for a Japanese release date of May 30, 2009.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope was released on February 24 for the Xbox 360 and hast thus far recieved positive reception. The game continues the Star Ocean saga, being the foruth in the series. Go out and buy it today!

On a side note, Forever Fantasy is currently struggling in the absense of the owner, Ram (Soul on the forums). We apologize for any kind of delayed S-E news and the obsessive spam on the forums. Hopefully Ram will return soon and the site can pick up again in full swing.

Dissidia Final Fantasy Dissidia: Final Fantasy Website Updated

dissidia site updated
The Dissidia: Final Fantasy site was updated today, splitting off into two smaller sites, fightforcosmos.com and fightforchaos.com.

Each respective version of the site carries a Story, Characters, and Specs section. The Character section currently only holds information of the Warrior of Light and Garland, and is expected to be updated with the rest of the game's cast over time, similar to the Japanese site.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy is set for a Mid '09 release and will sell for $39.99.

Which side will you fight for?

Square Enix Square Enix to Publish...Quantum of Solace?

Square to publish Quantum of Solace
Quantum of Solace, the latest James Bond flick from last year, proved to be not quite as successful as a video game when released last November. This isn't stopping Square Enix from publishing the game in Japan, however, as they were the first to jump to it after Activison discontinued it's Japanese publishing.

Many are curious as you why Square Enix was the first to pick it up, as James Bond type games aren't their typical focus. But hey, even Japan needs a little superspy action, who could deny them that?

For those interested in Japanese spy games, Quantum of Solace is set for a March 26th release.

Dissidia Final Fantasy Dissidia Sequel Planned, Fell Through

Dissidia sequel is not in the works
In an interview featured in the Japanese "Ultimania" strategy guide, Dissidia: Final Fantasy director Tetsuya Nomura revealed that a Dissidia sequel has become increasingly unlikely.

"There are no current plans for a sequel. To be honest, I wanted to do one up until a few months ago. I even called [Mitsunori] Takahashi, the planning director, and [Ryuji] Ikeda, the lead programmer, to talk about sequel concepts -- I told them to think about what they were going to do and prepare themselves [to make a sequel]."

Dissidia: Final Fantasy is slated for a Mid 2009 release in North America, following it's December 18th release in Japan.
